FAQ

Clear answers on how the hub works.

The central-hub model works best when responsibilities are precise. These are the questions brands, factories, importers and commercial buyers ask most often.

Do you act as our importer in Germany, France or another EU country?

Normally no. We hold and prepare your stock in Switzerland and coordinate release to the importer or distributor you appoint for that market. This keeps Cigar Logistics commercially neutral and keeps your importer relationships yours.

Who handles excise, tax stamps and Track & Trace?

The authorised importer or economic operator in the destination market normally handles the local obligations applicable to that shipment — including excise registration and payment, tax stamps or fiscal markings, and applicable Track & Trace responsibilities. We coordinate with your appointed partner on shipment requirements from the Swiss side.

Can you ship directly to retailers?

Where the legal and excise structure of the destination market permits, yes. In markets requiring a local importer or excise operator, shipments are routed through the appointed partner.

Can production ship directly from the factory to your warehouse?

Yes — subject to the agreed commercial and customs documentation and the receiving setup. We coordinate expected inbound shipments and receiving windows with you and your freight partners.

Can we start with one market and add others later?

Yes. This is a core advantage of the central-stock model: ship production once, hold it centrally, and release stock as each importer is appointed or each market order arrives.

Can you inspect stock on arrival?

Yes. An agreed incoming inspection and QC scope can be incorporated — covering packaging condition, box-count and SKU verification, visible damage or transit-condition observations, and photographic reporting for material discrepancies where appropriate. Questionable stock is escalated to you before release.

Do we have visibility of our stock?

Yes — through the Cigar Logistics inventory-management system. You can see stock on hand by SKU, inbound and outbound movements, and the status of orders being prepared, and place release requests directly through the platform. More on the inventory system →

Can we visit the warehouse?

Yes, by appointment — subject to security and client-confidentiality requirements.

Do you publish fixed prices?

Pricing is structured around your stock profile and activity — including inbound receiving, storage, handling and outbound fulfilment. We provide a clear proposal before onboarding and can structure rates to scale as volumes increase.

Are there minimum volumes?

The structure is designed to scale: clients can start with launch quantities — a few hundred boxes — and expand the same logistics structure as production and market coverage grow. Tell us your expected inbound volume and outbound activity in the enquiry form and we will confirm fit.
